The house is also our family home and we have a duty of care to protect our family by not accepting guest in the near future. This dignified Edwardian townhouse is situated in the Grange, a quiet conservation area, 1 mile south of Edinburgh city centre and the main tourist attractions.
As guests at Ashdene House, you are assured of being well looked after by the owners, David and Caroline Daulby, who's family have owned the Guest House for generations. Their considerable experience is apparent in the quality of service and comfort provided. There is unrestricted street parking just outside the house and an excellent local bus service gives you access to the city centre in ten minutes. If you prefer to walk, then a stroll through the Meadows leads directly to the medieval Old Town. Theatres, cinemas and eating places are close at hand. There is a good selection of local restaurants, serving an excellent variety of foods, just 5 minutes walk. Tourist information is available in the house to help you plan your day in the city or, if you prefer, you can take a day trip to the Scottish Highlands. Your hosts will be happy to help and advise you.
No Smoking: Ashdene House operates a No Smoking Policy throughout all public areas, along with all bedrooms and bathrooms. This policy enables us not only to meet legal requirements, but also to create a comfortable environment for all guests to enjoy. Should we believe that guests have been smoking in any part of the house, a Smoking Fine of £100 will be charged for deep cleaning and they will also be asked to leave the premises.
